Personal data are information that can be used to obtain personal or factual information about you (e.g. name, address, telephone number, date of birth or e-mail address). Information with respect to which we are unable to establish any (or only with disproportionate effort) relation to your person, e.g. by anonymising the information, is not personal data.
Each time you access one of our web pages and each time a file is accessed, data about that action is stored in a log file. The storage serves exclusively internal system-related and statistical purposes. Each time you access a web page, the following data are stored:
These data are used solely for statistical analysis and to optimise the users' experience, after which they are deleted. Usage statistics are only compiled anonymously.
However, if you wish to use the services we offer on our website such as alfaview, etc., you will need to provide additional data to do so. This involves data that are required for the particular service used, such as your e-mail address and your name and surname for identification purposes during a virtual conference. We use the data we collect about you in order to provide our products and services, answer your questions and to operate and optimise our website and applications.
We do not use your personal data for any other purpose. Except in the cases described below, your personal data will not be transferred to third parties or used for advertising purposes without your consent, unless we are legally obliged to disclose data (information to law enforcement agencies and courts; information to public authorities that receive data pursuant to statutory provisions, e.g., social security institutions, tax authorities, etc.) or we involve third parties bound to a professional duty of confidentiality in order to enforce our claims. Personal data are used for the following purposes in particular:
We use the data that you provide when ordering goods without your separate consent exclusively for the fulfilment and processing of your order. Once the order has been processed and the purchase price paid in full, your data will be blocked for further use and deleted after expiry of the applicable retention periods under tax and commercial law, unless you have expressly consented to the further use of your data. In order to process payments, we forward your payment data to the authorised banking institution. These entities may use your data solely for order processing and not for other purposes.
When you use alfaview, we collect and store via our website the following information from registered users:
The Client also creates a new log file on the user's computer each time it is started (older log files are not automatically deleted, but left on the hard disk). For Windows users, the data are saved under "C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Local\alfaview\logs", and for Mac users under "/Users/[User]/Library/Application Support/alfaview/logs". Each start of alfaview is assigned a random, unique character string that is used in the name and content of the log files. The Client logs different events in a timestamped log file, for example, when a USB camera is found, when a video stream is interrupted, when rooms are changed, or an update process is started. Under menu item "Detailed messages" in the "Experiments" menu, the settings can be changed to include more detailed information in the log files. Internal processes are then logged with their intermediate steps, which facilitates/enables an analysis in the event of an error. These log files are not visible to us and can be forwarded by the user to alfaview support for troubleshooting. If the user participates in conferences under the company account "alfatraining internal" within the scope of the company's internal use, the log files with the aforementioned information will be forwarded to alfatraining's development department for technical evaluation. This will only be done if the user has consented to this in advance.
While alfaview is in operation, all actions of participants will be stored anonymously on the server. These data are deleted every six weeks. Currently, chat logs are not permanently stored, but are deleted after a meeting.
We are not obligated to provide the services on our own server, but may use the services of third parties for this purpose. The services required for providing the services are hosted exclusively on servers within the EU. If you expressly wish to have services hosted outside the EU, this is possible after prior arrangement with us.
We may have information and/or news relating to the use of alfatraining services sent to you by e-mail.
If you have consented to the use of your personal data for advertising purposes, we not only use your information for that and the processing of the services you have requested but also to occasionally have interesting news and information about our company or the goods and services we offer, which is geared to your individual interests, sent to you by post on the basis of your data, and use your data for the analysis necessary for this purpose. For technical reasons, we may need to compile your data and the data you provide in user profiles and analyse these for the aforementioned purposes. This is only done internally and for the aforementioned purposes.
You may revoke your consent to this at any time by contacting email@example.com. If you have not declared your consent or if you revoke it, the data will not be used as set out in the above paragraph. But you may of course use our services.
If you have given your consent, we can send you current information and interesting offers beyond those described in § 3 c) (1) by newsletter. You may revoke this consent to use the e-mail address for advertising purposes at any time with effect for the future and unsubscribe to the newsletter by clicking on "unsubscribe" at the end of the newsletter or send an e-mail with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To subscribe to our e-mail newsletter service, we require your consent and at least your e-mail address to which the newsletter is to be sent. Any further information you provide is voluntary and will be used to address you personally and to personalize the content of the newsletter as well as to answer questions about your e-mail address. It is up to you to decide whether or not you provide us with this information. However, without this information we cannot send you our newsletter.
Except in the cases mentioned above, we do not create any personal user profiles.
